A community for funded futures traders

Nobody passes an eval on their own.

Payout Season is a room of futures traders working through the same thing you are — evaluations, drawdown rules, and the discipline it takes to hold a funded account together. Free to join, and built on people helping each other rather than anyone selling you a shortcut.

Free forever · No signals · No upsell at the door

Why it exists

Trading is a solitary job with a scoreboard.

Most people running a funded account do it entirely alone. No colleagues, no desk, nobody to sanity-check a decision at the moment it actually matters.

And it's rarely the strategy that ends the account. It's the Tuesday you're close to the threshold, nobody knows, and the only voice in the room is the one telling you to size up and make it back. That decision gets made in isolation, and isolation is what makes it easy.

This community exists to remove that isolation. It's traders at every stage — some on their first evaluation, some on their fourth attempt, some funded and working out how to stop giving it back — talking through the parts that are genuinely hard. Not performance. Not highlights. The actual work.

  • People who understand the problem. You don't have to explain what a trailing drawdown is, or why a green day still cost you something. Everyone here already knows.
  • Morning prep, together. Levels and context discussed before the session rather than picked apart afterwards.
  • Firm rule changes, the day they land. When a prop firm quietly moves its drawdown or payout terms, someone here catches it — before it costs you an account.
  • Share as much or as little as you want. Some people talk through every session. Plenty read quietly for months. Both are completely normal here.

What goes on

Three things the room is good at.

No motivational content, no chart-astrology, no rented cars. Just the practical side of trading a funded account, discussed by people doing it.

Every session

Market preparation

Key levels, the economic calendar, and what the volatility regime looks like before the open — shared and argued about, so you walk in with a plan instead of a chart.

Ongoing

The rules nobody reads

Drawdown mechanics, consistency rules, payout conditions and the fine print that quietly ends accounts. Collective knowledge from people who've hit these rules the hard way.

Ongoing

The part nobody talks about

Discipline, tilt, revenge trading, and what to do after a bad day. The unglamorous half of this job, discussed honestly by people who aren't selling you anything.

Firms

The rules that actually decide whether you keep the account.

Almost nobody fails on strategy. They fail on a drawdown mechanic they didn't read carefully. Here's how the main futures firms differ on the things that matter — current as of 2026, and always worth re-checking on the firm's own site before you pay.

Drawdown moves on unrealized highs, so a good trade you don't close can shrink your cushion. $85/mo per funded account, plus a 50% consistency rule at withdrawal.

End-of-day trailing

80 / 20 Smaller drawdown in dollar terms, but it only moves at session close — far kinder if you hold through volatility. No monthly fees once funded.

EOD trailing,

80 / 20 Once you close $100 above starting capital the drawdown floor locks permanently — you can't fail on drawdown after that. One-time $130 activation.
Lucid TradingFast payouts One-time fee

90 / 10 The most trader-friendly split here, with payouts averaging minutes rather than days. Straight-to-funded accounts cost more up front and carry stricter rules.

HOW TO READ THIS — There is no best firm, only a firm that fits how you trade. If you hold through the cash open or use a wider stop, end-of-day drawdown is worth more to you than a better split. If you scalp and close flat, intraday trailing matters less and a bigger first-tier split is worth real money. Ask in the server and describe how you actually trade — that gets a better answer than any comparison table.

AFFILIATE DISCLOSURE — Payout Season has no affiliate relationships with any firm listed above at time of writing. If that changes, links will be marked as affiliate links here and wherever else they appear, and it will not change what gets said about a firm.

Questions

The things people ask before joining.

Is it actually free?

Yes, and it stays free. There's no locked tier at the door, no verification task, and nothing to buy to take part. If a paid room ever opens it'll be a separate, clearly-marked thing — this one won't be hollowed out to sell it.

Are there trade signals?

No. Nobody here posts calls to copy, and that's deliberate. You'll see levels, reasoning and discussion — but every trade you take is your own decision and your own risk. Copying someone else's entry teaches you nothing you can repeat next week.

Do I have to share my account or my results?

No. Nothing is required of you. Some members talk through their sessions in detail, others read quietly and never post — both are completely normal. You take part at whatever level you're comfortable with.

I'm brand new to futures. Is this for me?

Yes, with a caveat: read before you trade. The daily discussion assumes you can already place and manage a trade. Sit in for a couple of weeks, get familiar with how people talk about drawdown and risk, and don't fund anything until the rules genuinely make sense to you.

What's traded here?

Mostly index futures — Micro E-mini S&P (MES) and Micro Nasdaq (MNQ) — traded intraday on prop firm accounts. No crypto, no forex, no twelve-instrument watchlist.

Which prop firm should I use?

Whichever drawdown model matches how you actually hold trades — start with the firms table above. That single question matters far more than the profit split, and it's the one most people skip.

Ground rules

What this is not.

Worth saying plainly, because a lot of this corner of the internet does the opposite.

Not a signal service

No calls to copy, ever. Discussion and reasoning only — the trade is always your decision and your risk.

Not managed money

Nobody here takes funds, trades anyone else's account, or takes a share of anyone's profits. Not even informally.

Not a guarantee

Most people fail these evaluations. Many who pass never see a payout. Nobody here is going to pretend otherwise.

Not a sales funnel

No hidden sponsors. Any paid relationship is labelled, every time, wherever it appears.
